What We Do

Our team meets with you, or conference calls, to determine how we can make the most out of your horse’s visit to the Spa. It may be for therapy, a short vacation, or long term retirement. We offer treatment and pricing packages to fit your needs. Call or email us at info@goodenoughfarms.com with your mailing address and we’ll send over a comprehensive package of information with pricing.

Vet Tech

Our Veterinary Technician has over 20 years experience working with all kinds of horses, from ranch horses to high-end show horses. For the past several years she has been on staff at Humphrey Giacopuzzi & Assocs., Ventura County's leading equine hospital and health center. She provides horses at the spa with frequent health checks and preventive "wellness" programs that keep the horses in our care feeling well, with wound management care a specialty. Along with other members of the Goodenough team, she also visits other barns and stables, delivering the special kind of WellHorse from Goodenough Farms Horse Spa™ services available at the Spa to horses in their "home environments." Horses in our care are checked hourly, monitored daily and provided with the best possible veterinary care as needed.

Horse Movement & Therapeutic Riding

Our therapeutic riders are some of the most skilled equestrians in Southern California. We specialize in working with horses "on the ground" in the round pens and arenas at Goodenough Farms Horse Spa. Once the horse is grounded and the horse and rider have developed a trusting relationship, we ride the horses using minimal tack. It's both dramatic and delightful to watch our riders take a horse who has suffered physical or mental problems into a "zone" where we are able to bring the horse back into good physical shape, or overcome chronic behavioral issues.

Therapeutic Shoeing

We fought the law but the law lost when our favorite farrier, a former Ventura County Sheriff deputy, joined Goodenough Farms Horse Spa as our therapeutic shoer. Like a fine jeweler sculpting a precious diamond, his approach to shoeing is based on quality, patience and measurable differences in equine performance. Problems such as navicular, stringhalt and other ailments of the feet and legs have been dramatically improved by his handiwork. We know that a horse's movement is dependent on many things, but by starting with the basics of good shoeing, we've been able to enhance their performance during their sojourns at Goodenough Farms.
